It is so fun to have people visit, to show them around the city, share a little of what I've learned about Austria, and share my love for our school and our kids, all while being encouraged by them. In the same weekend, my fourth grade teacher and her family came through Vienna after sharing at an education conference in Hungary and my friend's younger sister (Marian) came to visit from France! We all got to go to an Authentic Austrian restaurant Saturday evening and I was so blessed by their encouragement and listening ears!
Marian was able to stay through the middle of the week since she is teaching English in France and was currently on break! She loved Vienna, and I was inspired by her sense of adventure and exploration of the city, but mostly of her love for the Lord and her desire to serve Him abroad. Currently she is planning to swim the English Channel (which is over 20 miles of swimming!) in order to raise money for diabetes! Amazing! Check out her blog... http://doverandover.squarespace.com/.
